After a few weeks of traipsing around western Madhya Pradesh, I'd been having a really good time all in all -- but also getting very tired, what with bad and slow and involved connections over bad roads and in jam-packed buses all the time, the heat (40C+ -- mid-March, by now, and people had been telling me the heat was about a month early), the often scarcely being able to communicate with anyone, the this not stopping anyone from their lovingly being all over you with their darn good care all day long whether you in fact could understand them or not or were in the mood at all, the consequently sometimes feeling like you could scarcely be left alone for a minute, etc. and so forth. Feeling terribly lonely at times and even in the midst of all that attention, missing my lady, sure. There will have been a few occasions where I considered just calling it a day & going home.

It ended with me looking into flights out of there even, dreading the thought of even the next involved and clanky ride, and my next stop being to meet up with some IndiaMikers in Hyderabad, then trundle around the south some; however at such short notice, flights turned out to be unaffordable over my route, if at all available (and even any airports needed for it not exactly next door, of course). So I resigned to another connection of some 2-3 buses and trains and over several hours, to make it to my connecting point out of the state at all. Now having to suddenly pack it up earlier than I had wanted to even and of course, since then was the only interstate train available for some time to come.

Once I did resign myself to it and as such things go, I sort of enjoyed those final rides out of there, even. And it was not without a sense of melancholy that in fact I left the state behind me; I was to briefly return to its northern parts the next year, and sure have it in me to re-visit again & explore further in future.

This would have been on one of those buses, probably leaving Omkareshwar, and heading towards Itarsi my connecting point. As you can see here, the bus was relatively non-crowded even, ahem; hey, at least and obviously I had me a seat!

Great observation video inside the bus. Nice slow moving camera from object to object. Low framerate excellent for slow moving people inside bus, less for fast moving nature outside. According to me this one is your best quality video (regarding the rigide technical limits, and for the splendid registration) inside the Indiamike videobox. Bravo.

Ah, Joph, thanks; and that by our nr. 1 video maker, too!

Yes, what can one say; I was mostly just discovering my camera as I went along anyhows, first digital one I've ever held. (And, for that matter, first time I've ever shot videos.) Wouldn't mind being a little more targeted about it in future; as I've said elsewhere, I wasn't to see the results in full screen for the first time (then realizing a lot I'd been doing wrong) until somewhere mid-way through my trip.

The framerate I'm no expert on, however those outside shots get extremely choppy here yes; I think it's something that happens in the conversion process, these are in fact originally MP4 HD clips, and they need to massively be brought back. The camera noticeably has to adjust turning from dark to light, but I guess most will, and the effect isn't otherwise as extreme as it is here.

Anyway: Thanks for the praise & encouragement And, after a few previous tries, I've learned now to bring them back to about 2.5 minutes, max., in any case; the set-up here doesn't allow for any higher, as you had cautioned me before. A few others might have turned out better had I kept that in mind.

Machadinha wrotethen realizing a lot I'd been doing wrong) until somewhere mid-way through my trip.

Same with my first video-camera. There was a beautifull ceremonie inside the temple of Kollur, but it was evening and quite dark. I configurated the camera on nightstand. The result was a light but shocking (only few frames a second) video. Pity of that nice scene, but then later I found out the more preferable configuration for night shots.

By the way. Some of the feelings you describe about feeling lonesome or wanting to leave the state and so on,(or wondering what the hell I'm doing in some places) I came across myself now and then while being on the road. I have to say though that in India I feel more relaxed about that (lonesomeness), then while being in a European counties (like Greece) travelling. In India there's often a lot of interaction going on, which gives me the oppurtunity of sharing thoughts, smiles, handshakes, irritation, arguing and so on.

My primair feeling is that in India people are curious towards Western people, and like to interact with them, which is a advantage, except in the cases in which people are bordering them for all kinds of reasons.
