A very distingushed British couple start to descend the stairs of the covered VIP grandstand at the Dacca Race Course in Dacca, Bengal. Muslim men can be seen standing along an outer fence while other Britishers mingle on a finely manicured lawn. A Mughal era gate/pavillion is barely visible in the distance & to the right of the grandstands. Signs/banners indicating that the race course is 'Totalisator' equipped can be seen throughout & dating this photo to the 1890's.
