Shrivardhan fort is one of the two hill forts that constitute the Rajmachi fortification, the other being Manaranjan fort. At 900 M (3000 feet) above sea level it is the taller of the two forts. Other than a rampart there's no visible construction.
Mainly it was used as a watchtower for the Sahyadri region - as a strategic fort overlooking Borghat(ghat between Mumbai and Pune) which was a historical trade route.
