Little is known of this FijiMan. I ran into him on top of a mountain in the Black Hills of Gujarat during the Rann Ustav Desert Festival in February 2008. My friend and I spent 18 days with him traveling through Gujarat and Rajasthan, He spoke Hindi, Gujarti, new a little Sanskrit and spoke perfect English with a Austalian/New Zealand Accent.
He was born in Fiji a little over 50 years ago of Gujarati parentage. At some point he lived in Australia and New Zealand. He is a poet and has been a pharmacist and a pilot for a small airline in Fiji. He carried a NZ passport. He seemed to be looking for his roots as well as a deep search into Hinduism. He would download info onto his key chain Flash drive at the internet cafe and load it up into his laptop and stay up into the early morning studying in the hotel room. We last saw him in Pushkar. He loves to talk and talk and at times has an eye for the ladies. He would buy a small momento from every place he visited which would build up in terms of more luggage. From my understanding he had stuff stored in Delhi, Chennai, Trivandrum and a few other places. But he still carried 5 to 6 bags. All in all I think he is a great travel partner and helped us out immensely especially with translation and knowledge of India.
If you see him say hello and thank you. If you want to know anything just ask him - if he knows he will talk for hours - if he does not know he will still talk for hours.

His own thread maybe. There is so much more I could say but some things are better left as a mystery. There are countless travellers and residents in India with a story that could be deserving of their own thread.
