My favorite, snonymous! Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures, I loved everyone. Never knew such incredible orchids grow in the wild around Mumbai.

Thanks Sita. They are lovely arent they. I didnt know either until about 8 years ago. Ive collected a lot of wild orchids from the Middle Vaitarna dam site close to Mumbai, where the forest is going to be chopped completely for the dam. It is such a pity. These orchids are now in my terrace garden and thriving, not surprising since they are endemic species. The bee orchid is one of nature's little oddities. This year all of them are blooming a bit earlier, I think due to the "cold" winter we had in Mumbai.
