I was definitely born 10 years too late - I was 9 then, oh how I wish I'd been 19 and along for the ride!

The ride was an adventure filled with long hours over bumpy roads at 15 to 35 mph through the eastern Turkey Iranian winter in a VW Bus with no heat. Sometimes we would travel 14 hours and cover 175 miles. Also being in a windowless (except for the side and back door and windscreen) vehicle with 5 strangers was trying at times.
This all seems a bit negative but I would do it again for the sheer fact of when you woke in the morning you knew that the day would be an adventure of some kind and who knows what country or what people you would encounter.
And kristinm you call yourself a senior member. By my math you were 9 in 1970 as you said. That means you were born in 61. I was 13 in 61. I would say I was a senior member but you are - young middle age.
I have 3 or 4 more Fotos of 1970 I will post. I ended mailimg my camera back to Canada when I got to India because was worth more than most Indians would make in a life time and I just felt it burdensome/ Looking back I should of kept but ......

Now we have your photos, my photos and Wanderer 22s photos from our overland trips in the 70s. Maybe there should be a separate catagory for these so everyone can look at them in one place. What do you think?
