This statue stands 123 feet high, it is also perched on top of a small hill and surrounded by the sea on 3 sides (almost 3 sides), it is surrounded by other statues and a temple.
It is 'jaw-dropping' to look at during the day, but at night, when it's all lit up, it's mesmerising.
There are also 2 wonderful stories about the town, but I'm not going to give them away, you'll have to visit to find out.
Get to Murudeshwar before foreign tourists spoil it.
I was only there for 3 days, but could have stayed for a week, such was the charm of the place and it's people.
To think, I've yet to mention miles and miles of great beaches and the best view I've ever had from a hotel window.
