Who to take frustrations out on??
I have followed all the info everyone has given about the buying and seling of property in Goa, I came to live here in 2002 did my time and purchased a flat filling all the "goverment" joke rules, now i wish to sell it have come across so many frustrating and stupid things.
I have been investigated by the directorate of enforcement and everything ok,held the correct visa, did my time, money transfered in legal manner etc etc. have held a residential permit for 5 years which the RBI have stated in a letter entitles me to sell, have an indian buyer, but now my advocate has told me the goan goverment has suspended all buying and selling till all investigations have taken place, that will take years as the enforcement officer works alone and only does 2 interviews dailing in mumbai and has been on extended leave for 5 weeks!!! has anyone heard of the Debt management dept at pouri vim? well thats our next appointment to seek permission from them to sell a flat i brought legally, i do really want to hit someone, anyone got any answers or a big punch bag they can sell me!!!??? |

Perhaps you could find the nearest agent who is still telling foreigners that they can buy through his scheme, and look, here's his advocate to tell them its all true --- and take it out on him.
Otherwise it sounds like a real crap situation that has no simple answer. Public Interest Litigation? I don't know if that is appropriate, or would even take just as long.

Have we found the answer????
We have just been to the "the Debt management dpt" at pourvim, spoke to a really nice gentleman, presented all our paperwork to him, visas etc he yes he!!! is going to verify all our visa's with the FRO and hopefully confirm that we can sell as we have done everything legally. yippee hopefully there is a god and he works in the Debt management dept. allthough i really donot see what that has to do with buying and selling property but hay its India!!!!

Life does suck when you have lived in a place for over 6 years and have loved it (forgetting all the ups and downs sides there are here) as much as we have and would have liked to remain here until we had to zimmer frame ourselves down to the beach so to speak, but all the difficulties we are facing now i do not think i can go through the stress off fighting for visas etc
Unfortunatley prehaps pastures new need to be looked into, or is it the case of better the devil you know!!!! thanks for everyones support will let you know the outcome for future reference ![]() |
