What to do..what to do
I am in Canada and would like to know what kind of opportunites would be available that would take me to India at least once a year. Moving there permanently is out of the question as the kids are that age where they don't want to live in India on a parmanent basis (unless it is Goa). Please throw some ideas out there.

I guess the first questions would be
What do you do for a living? What else can you do? What would you like to do? |

The OP is very vague and because of that it is impossible to offer any advice.

I thought of it after posting that yes I was very vague, sorry.
I am in IT (Sys. Admin) and worked at the same place for 19 years until recently, (cutbacks due to loss of a major client). I now have a few months to pursue other opportunities as I am covered financially for a while. Business opportunities don't have to be in the same field, just want to work for myself rather than contributing to making other people rich. After nearly 28 years in Canada, I am just reluctant to move back on a permanent basis (especially with a young family) even though I have visited about 9 times since then, so I know India has changed. |

If you are in IT wouldn't it be logical to contact some of the big companies based here and see if there is any opening for casual work? The other idea might be to contact NGO's, volunteer organizations etc. That could bring you to India for a short time every year! If you have writing skills, contact travel book companies and see if you are suitable for a writer's job checking out hotels etc. I am sure many other ideas for short time in India annually.. Will just take a bit of effort on your part to search around the Threads here and contact organizations.
