Is it worth to do a short trip to Punjab? The plan would be 4 or 5 days from Delhi (by train) to Jalandhar and Amritsar.Shall we do this? What do we have to see? Is there anything we should avoid? And again we thank for your great advices! ![]() |

The Rock Garden in Chandigarh is the only thing worth seeing in the city. But boy, what a garden!

Hey Basel, 4 days might be a little long for Amritsar and Wagah. but if you do go, don't miss the amritsari kulchas and a glass of lassi!

What's your suggestion? Coming to Jalandhar, meeting a friend - next day going to Amritsar - spending two days there (I heard about delicious food... so having food an lassi and sightseeing) - all in all 3 days ???

3 Days are too much in Amritsar in my opinion. You can do aall the site seeing on one day itself. Golden Temple (Awesome feeling) and Jaliawala Bagh (of special importance for Indians) are very close to each other. Wagha is a 4 hour outing only.

Agreed 3-4 days is a long time in Amristsar - that said try and spend at least one evening there so you can see the temple by night. Beautiful and very peaceful.
Wagah has turned into a real circus so you will have to get there early to get a good seat - or stay at the back to be able to make a timely escape. |
