Yes excellent Joe, a burden lifted! My PIO is in process at Delhi but they gave me six months extension on my x visa to cover the processing time, our local SP increased that to a year - good man!

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations.
I'm very happy and even feel privileged i got the PIO. Overseeing the time, the process was slow and frustrating, but once again a good experience. Keep your cool and never give up. Avoid steps in between yourself and the source of which you're expecting to fulfill your needs. In this case i mean, many people want to promise things while thinking they can get some profit out of it. At the end they don't care, so avoid them as much as is possible. Register your documents everywhere with all stamps and signs. My first daughter (since 3 months i'm a proud father of two now) was born here in India over 3 years ago. Because we wanted to apply for a Dutch passport we had to register and legalize our marriage- certificate through the dutch embassy and the MHA. Quite an easy process compared to PIO and useful when applying for it. Try to stay in touch with Delhi. A few times i was "invited" by a official to come to Delhi and have a talk about the PIO. I knew and verified all papers were ok so politely i thanked for the invitation. He probably meant if i had gone there and bribed him/them i had my PIO, cause all formal "paper" arguments were solved. After that no news, so every now and then i called to remind them. MHA told me two times the papers were send for verification but no reply from the local FRRO. Then i send a letter with the faxnr. and some details of the local FRRO i'm dealing with, with the humble request to fax him after two times vainly sending the paperwork. (which is straight Bulls*** i think, but ok...) After some pushing through post finally someone thought it was time to grant me the PIO. Two months ago i received a forwarded letter, saying that PIO has been granted and has to be issued IMMEDIATELY after receiving a revalidated demand draft, which i immediately did. Little over two months later i received my PIO. Hikkaduwa, Paleface and all others in process of PIO, stay in touch. I'm curious and interested in your progressions and if you think i can help you somehow please respond or PM me. Peace |
