hotels and things to see in Ahmedabad

3 teachers are going to Ahmedabad for Gandhi's birthday weekend--October 2-4. Looking for a clean cheap hotel and things to do there. Any suggestions?

Ahemedabad is known for the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. You can visit the tombs of Ahmed Shah and his queens, Ahmed Shah's Mosque, Jama Masjid, Mosque of Sidi Sayid, Teen Darwaza or Triple Gateway .
And don't miss Adlaj Vav, whic is an intricately built step well. Another great place is Lothal, an ancient dock belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization, this is about 80 km southwest of Ahmedabad.
And for those for whom it matters Gujarat is officially a dry state that means no booze!!!!!!

I am sure a Gujarati Thali is on your mind. Some good places are:
1.Vishala & Rajwadu - Away from town centre, slightly expenseive but offer great experinece.
2.Athidi & Govardhan Tal - On SG Highway - prime space. Mid priced.
3.Adhaar on the top floor of Iscon Complex on CG Road. 200ish. I liked this the best.

What is Cheap. Please define your budget. I may know some places.
