Finding qualified professional staff

I've finally started thinking of seriously relocating to india - been reading a lot of the threads on here and having previously spent two years travelling and living there so I have some idea of what to expect.

I'm currently thinking Kerala or Himalayas. Nature and simplciity are important as well as cost (low!).

I do run a very small buisness but can do this from anywhere. However, what I need to research is the feasibility of employing staff out there, recruitment sources, employment law and wages. So far I havent' been able to find good recruitment sources. Any pointers towards NewsPapers, magazines and online would really be appreciated.

I'm a NRI so hoping that would make the process of moving out there much easier. I'm heading out to Kerala soon to look at locations

Hi Chimneyfog ... and good luck with your project.

Naukri.com and Monster.com are good recruitment sites.

No shortage of good skilled people in India, though they may not be as easy to find in the areas you mention as in the big metros.

It varied what type of people are you looking for.
Local office support - local newspapers.
Mid level through websites and other sources of advertisements followed by interview.
Higher-up, there are consultancies who do the job of head hunting. Reference also does the tricks

Cheers !

I hate to say this, being a bit of a leftie and, in principle, very much in favour of trade unions, but the situation in Kerala can, from the employers' point of view, be very, very difficult.

Thanks familyonthemove for Naukri.com and Monster.com I'll take a look. Is it worth advertising in local papers/online ?

And thanks for the advice on Kerala employment law Nick. I've been thinking Banglore but I have a feeling that it'll be too expensive but I'll take a look.
