White tantric yoga classes

Does anyone know of any white tantric yoga classes happening in India? Are there any places where one can go to learn?

Sorry I can not help, but the obvious question I have is - What is tantric yoga? And, of course, the follow-up - What is WHITE tantric yoga?

There are a few genuine tantrics of the kaula maarga [right handed or white path ] but I have never heard of them conducting classes. If they start conducting classes, then they are not tantrics, just shrewd businessmen.

For whatever reasons, the more the classes are conducted, the more is the teaching polluted/diluted. This is true for ANY Yoga... not just the white or black tantra ....

Pray sincerely in your heart for a teacher. Let the Supreme Mother Herself guide you.

Dr. Robert Svoboda in the US knows a lot of tantrics.... he himself studied under one in India. Just google on his name; he has a website.

It depends on how you define 'Tantra'. You could refer generically to any number of meditation techniques, or to more specific practices or interpretation of religious texts & such.
I think it's more about the attitude you have toward life than any formalised system, but I don't speak from experience.

One place is Bihar Yoga Bharati which might not be the kind of Tantra we're familiar with (rather academc) but it seems like a reputable place. The info for the school is on the left, btw.
At the other end of the scale is Osho
You can also take Tibetan Buddhist meditation classes around Dharamsala, maybe someone else can help with the specifics.

Go to San Francisco, I am sure there are a lot of White tantrics there very willing to take your money and teach you !!! Seriously, I bet there are better yoga classes and tantic classes in California than there are in India.

As a pioneer of this age, Yogi Bhajan decided to open the experience of White Tantric Yoga to anyone who wanted to commit to the discipline. In 1971, Yogi Bhajan offered White Tantric Yoga for the first time in Los Angeles. Until 1986, he traveled throughout the world presenting as many as thirty workshops each year to thousands of students. In 1987, using his unique abilities as Master, together with modern technology, he began to present White Tantric Yoga as a video-taped series which has the same effect as when he was physically present."

you can check out the Kundalini yoga association's website above. it should be able to tell you lots of what you want to know. FYI, Yogi Bhajan was a Sikh, he died just last year. My spiritual name, given to me by his organization, is Narayan Kaur.

Unfortunately, when many Westerners hear the word "tantra" they think of new-age, trendy tantric sex workshops (as seen on Oprah ). Tantric sex is a very small part of tantra yoga.

Tantra is a Sanskrit word that, like the word yoga, has several distinct but basically related meanings. One of my teachers said that tantra means "to weave" (nothing more, nothing less) -- tantric yoga is about weaving the spiritual and material life, and learning to see that the material and spiritual are not separate.

Tantra has always been a part of both Hinduism and Buddhism. It is also seen in Jainism. In fact, Buddhist Tantra is more well-known than Hindu tantra, as seen in the Tibetan tradition of Vajrayana (the Diamond Vehicle). Tibetan lamas have always generously initiated and taught Westerners all levels of Vajrayana Buddhism.

So don't assume that anything with "tantric" in the title is a fraud. According to yoga scholar Georg Feuerstein, "tantra is a fundamental dimension of Hinduism, emphasizing the cultivation of 'divine power' (shakti) as a path to infinite bliss."
