We are planning a trip to India in January 2007 and I'm wondering if anyone has been to a Kumbh Mela? There is one in Allahabad with the best bathing day on January 19. Also we would like to visit the Jaipur festival the last half of January. Is it worth going to or not?

"the best bathing day" roughly translates into a whole lot of people think millions!!
The Mela really looks like a fantastic event to attend but the sheer numbers put me off
