Teachings by His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Teachings by His Holiness the Dalai Lama
Hi all,
Friday me and my boyfriend are going to India for a month. We plan to visit first Amritsar, then go to Dharamsala and after that travel from Manali to Leh by jeep.
In our planning we will arrive in Leh around 29 th june.
I just found out that His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give teachings in Leh from 1 th to 4 th july. It would be great to see the Dalai Lama. Can you go as tourist to such a teaching? If so, do you have to inscribe yourself in advance?
Thanks

Have you left enough time for acclimatizing to the high altitudes?
I have no experience of the mountains and you probably do, so my apologies if you have allowed enough time for this.
Belgium to Leh in 9 days via Delhi, Amritsar, Dharamsala and Manali seems fast going.
For others considering this route take a look at the following 2 links.

Having only been to one speech by his holiness, I quickly discovered that a small short-wave radio is also a necessity unless you understand Tibetan. The speech I attended in Dharamsala was in Tibetan but translated in English by an interpreter over short-wave. Had I known beforehand I would have been able to understand all three hours of it.
So bringing a small short-wave radio with you on your trip might also be a good idea.
