this is already a lost cause as communities are constantly evolving, changing & diversifying. I don't think that u would find a realistic list. At the best u may be able to find something rudimentary or some sort of basics. Something exhaustive is also probable but something up-to-date & exhaustive, most unprobable.

spiritual communities can be magnets for... how shall we say... manipulating/ condescending holier than thou control freaks. but hey... some might say this is necessary and can be a great catalyst in your spiritual practice.

Bihar should be a good starter for spiritual matters. That would be eye-opener as to why I said no. of spiritual communities. Both the links which had been given by Idli are of just the Raja Yoga way. Just for e.g. if u look into yoga, you will find so many communities & even in them different schools who interprete the same structure/practise/kriya differently.
What perhaps would be more better understanding for me atleast would be a definition of what one means by 'spiritual community'

for osho it would've been www.osho.com
It's a never-ending list. Feast all u want, For myself I know this life-time would be less if I even try to experience them all even a single day at a time.

well..quite a few of my relatives/friends are in some of the above ...saibaba, ammaji, chinmaya and vedanta...srisri and baba ramdev now.....there was some TM a while back with maheshyogi and i would love to get back to that...

vippassana in igatpuri is something i want to try but the solitariness for a week at the moment seems too intense...

no one in osho or meher baba but i found about meherbaba from a spanish gal while we were chatting; sitting in a boat going from alleppey to kollam...she was painting murals in ahmednagar where his ashram is located..
