For that date I will be near Tiruvannamalai, do you think something is going on? If yes, will there be any celebrations worth of a schedule changing?
And most of all, is it correlated with deepvali festival?

Okay I got it...there are 4 differenet Shivratris spread across the year...

However Maha Shivratri (Great Shivratri) is one that is more widespread and celebrated..

Cool

In varanasi, home of Shiva, shivatri is in early spring.

diwali this year is on Nov 9, larger celebrations 2 weeks later(at least in varanasi).

Happy Trails

Shivarathri dates

HI!
Maha Shivarathri is celebrated on the new moon in February, sometimes beginning March!
What a great idea to be in Tiravanamalai.
I thought it was Divali that is in October/November????
Have a lovely time chanting Om namah Shivaya!!

Just gone, October 12th to 20th, was Navaratri. We did some threads about about it.

The more devout celebrants of MahaSivaRatri will spend all night in the temple. One such night I was playing music with friends in a London temple at 4.00am, partly wishing everyine would go home so I could, and mostly wishing they wouldn't
