Recommending an Ashram

Hi there,

I would like to query the forum policy on recommendations.

In a recent thread someone asked for a recommendation for an ashram specialising in kundalini. I noticed that after four pages of replies the question was essentially unanswered, so I took the time to register here and write about a school I studied at which specialises in kundalini.

My post was by no means a glowing recommendation of this school, in fact I was advising caution and suggesting the OP read an online critique of the school as well as their website.

My post was blocked by the moderator.

The OP asked for a recommendation of a kundalini ashram. Why allow four pages of abstract discussion on the big K-word, but then not allow me to answer their question?

I can answer your query here firstly as a moderator and secondly as a member of IndiaMike.

As a moderator
You received a note telling you that as a new member you were not able to make a recommendation. It goes no further than that. When you have been around the block so to speak your recommendations would be/will be welcome.

As a member

I distinctly remember having made a recommendation from my yoga teacher in answer to the question on the thread you are mentioning. The "four pages of abstract discussion" to which you refer were not off topic and were entirely pertinent to the question being raised.

(By the way, monkeyfish, if you want to quibble about a moderating decision, the correct procedure is to hit the button at the foot of the page called "Contact Us". Thanks!)

Thanks for your reply, that sounds fair enough.

Yes I did see your post on that thread, I guess I was over-exaggerating a little.

Cheers

Dear monkeyfish,

For anybody who has some understanding about Kundalini, it was a very good discussion.....
