Question Questions about Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) in Chennai

Hello all, after some months of reading (thanks to all contributors) I'd like to ask you about some things which weren't answered yet (at least I think so).

I want to practice yoga at KYM to solve my personal problems (mostly bad feelings but some physical illnesses too). I like their personal approach at KYM and want to start private therapy there (I'm not interested in intensive courses). I'd like to spent in Chennai at least 6 months (tourist visa) but I'd like to extend it to 1 year or more (by getting new visa in Sri Lanka).

I emailed them one year ago (three times), but I've never received any answer (maybe because of spam filter or I just wrote too much and nobody read it) So here are my questions, maybe someone here know the answers:

1) What are the current prices for one lesson and what is their duration? From what I've read here on IM I understand that it may be 25-50 USD per session, is this correct?
2) What is the actual address of KYM? 4th Main Road, RA Puram?
http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=chennai&countryCode=IN#map =13.02578,80.25585|17|4&bd=use ful_information&loc=IN:13.0258 3:80.25579:17|chennai 600028
3) Can I just go there to fix an appointment when I arrive to Chennai or should I do it earlier(email)? How long will I wait for first consultation?
4) And most important - is this school really that good? (I hope to receive the only one right answer for this last question)

Thanks and I hope you understand my english

Thank you Nick. Yes I've read their site (they say it is 4th Cross Street), but also a post by ArjunaWeeping (dated july 2009) where (s)he says its 4th Main Road. Fortunately the distance between these streets is little, so probably I'll check it when I arrive.

I'm headed for a course there in October. When I first emailed them, they said they would like anyone coming for therapy to schedule ahead of time, not just show up - so I would advise emailing or calling. They are incredibly friendly and there is always someone to speak good English.

if you know anything about yoga then you know that Krishnamacharya is considered the grandfather of modern hatha yoga. Desikachar opened the school to honor his father and his teachings.

if I didn't think the school was that good, I wouldn't go back every year.

Whilst its antecedence doesn't necessarily say anything conclusive, the distance that you travel to attend it says a lot!

right. and I wouldn't do that if I did not think it one of the best schools because there are plenty of places to study here.

Thanks all for your answers. Yes I have read a bit about Krishnamacharya and Desikachar and then I decided to go to Chennai. What I see is people often tell how the practice in KYM changed their view of yoga. So that's strange for me that in my country this school is not popular at all. Here all learn Iyengar yoga, which probably is also good but for other things, like one goal - different paths (yoga styles).
Anyway I will soon fix an appointment, just after I buy my ticket.
Regards.
