Psychic awareness or clairvoyance teachers
greetings...
I am trying to find a teacher who can (hopefully) help to increase my psychic awareness. The issue of course with this is to find someone that I connect with and trust completely. I am doing both some reading in this area as well as some personal practice in a meditation technique which is designed for this but would like to find a teacher to transmit the knowledge in person. Does anyone have any experience in this area and can give feedback of actual courses attended or teachers? I would prefer to check out only those that have come through a personal recommendation. Location of no particular preference, I should be around for a while and am happy to travel somewhere to a reputable teacher or course... thanks |

How would "psychic awareness" translate into an Indian context? Is it a "western" concept which takes on different associations in South Asia?
... starts me wondering how the word "paranormal" would sound in an Indian context too ... ?? Questions, questions |

i'm sitting just laughing at the responses
- yep, i knew it was a tricky kind of a question...i guess insight or awakening of vissudha, ajna and sahasrara (sp?) is more along the lines in india...as far as i understand they all have some function in terms of accessing different areas beyond our normal consciousness. have done some tantra yoga and plan to do a few months more but was looking at something a little more tailored to my needs in question. i am a fairly serious tarot student and would like to develop my intuition more to give me an additional aspect to my readings. but will google paranormalallapuram and see what i get! |

The guru you are looking for would have to be a psychic or clairvoiant too. So wait for him to contact you ... shouldn't he know you are looking for him if he is a true psychic. So wait and meditate!!

My long dead Uncle wrote a book entitled ‘How To Become More Psychic’, which was a bit tongue in cheek, the content was about divination, no not the Almighty but divining knowledge or answers to queries, such as sand divining which he had knowledge of from his years in Egypt. Tarot is divination, is it not? Ivor was clairvoyant and a Tarot master, indeed he was the first to translate from French the great work ‘Le Tarot’ by the Procureur General, Joseph Maxwell (1858-1938). The book is a resume of Maxwell’s experience and wisdom and any serious student of Tarot should have a copy (available on the net. Trans by Ivor Powell). Maxwell and Ivor used the Marseilles deck, but the book is neither a popular or DIY manual, but written simply with desire to pass on true knowledge which is the hallmark of great esotericists, he said on the flycover.
What you are asking to be taught is knowledge of an esoteric nature. Frankly you don’t need a teacher and any teacher worth their salt cannot gift the knowledge, a knowledgeable teacher, shall we say guide, which is more appropriate, would say that all knowledge is within the mind, and the external mind or ground of consciousness is the cosmos. To split hairs, we commonly say that for example, Isaac Newton discovered gravity, but gravity was obviously there all the while. Gravity wasn’t invented by Newton who actually uncovered only knowledge, which ipso facto precedes all known and unknown things, events and experience. Knowledge is consciousness and everything has a quantum of consciousness, a cell, a stone, a cloud, a human, all are sparked with this stuff of life. What I have written is not original, not mine, the knowledge of the cosmos, and thus oneself, is available these days in any bookstore. Or one might think that only half the story has ever been told, and some great conspiracy keeps us in the dark, which often seems the case given the state of our world. This is true to a certain extent because the esoteric half of the story cannot be told, or gifted. There are many folks who deny there is an esoteric nature, beyond what we experience with our senses, deny a grand unified field of intelligence, because from whence it originates we cannot determine, so scientifically it cannot be so. That’s the old Carl Sagan, Astronomer dichotomy ‘Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence’ which simply put means that if we don't know that something exists, it doesn't mean that it doesn't; It only means we don't know one way or the other, we just haven't been made aware of it yet so it's not part of our knowledge. Becoming more psychic is an automatic thing, the fact that one wishes to develop this side of one’s nature automatically sets in cosmic motion the means by which opportunities will be delivered, to fulfill this demand. That’s what ‘A Course in Miracles’ and similar, are all about. The thing of thinking of someone and then later one surprisingly interacts with that person, is all part of becoming more psychic; Putting out the antennae and consciously trying tune in, the Art of the matter is identifying the knowledge when it is being transmitted to one, which is happening constantly but generally we are turned off from the frequency. So who can teach this experience? We cannot give an experience to another, so all our communications are analogies, it’s like this or that, sugar is sweet but we don’t know sweet until we taste sugar. You mention if anyone here can recommend a guide that you can connect with and trust completely. Liveinhimalayas was right above, cometh the time cometh the guide, and I would suggest that any and all are essential to the process, one can’t know the one without experience of the other, our world of dualities, knowledge veiled by ignorance. Still ultimately one can only be guided and the journey is internal and not in the external world of competition, competing ideas, methods, brands, guides etc. That’s why the masters repeat trust your SELF. Get this and the question of being able to trust anyone else dissolves, becomes irrelevant. Tarot is all about recognising and interpreting received intelligence, information if you like. But knowing what is real intelligence or the stuff of the ego must be screened for authenticity, otherwise the Tarot is no more than a guessing game in many hands. Becoming more psychic means one gets better at screening and automatically, after a success or two, confidence grows and the signals picked up with one’s antennae are trusted, for pure knowledge is infallible. Sorry to go on a bit but the theme is of interest to me, BTW the Oracle (Ouija) is also a good method for practising discernment, screening what is bull or not. |

When I was in Dharamsala I did a week-long Spiritual Healing course at the Asho institure in Bagsu.
I really enjoyed it and it is partly the reason I am going back to India this summer. It's geared towards tourists, very expensive for indian standards (3000rp for 5 days) and light on philosophy but the teacher is so nice and I really came away being amazed. They teach you meditation techniques coupled with breathing and then feeling auras. If you do the month long course you can learn colour therapy, psychic healing and so on. I would recommend a grounding in yoga before you start though. The breathing exercises they teach are in line with yogic practise but this is not explained (ie anulom vilom etc). I had some very powerful medidations during this course, and whether it's genuine or not did feel auras and balanced chakras which made me feel great after the week ![]() |
