Holi 2006

It's a religious day so I suppose it kind of fits here - anyone know when Holi is next year? Would like to make sure I'm in town for it

I find is very surprising that someone (esp a woman) would like to be in India during Holi?? I thought there was a paranoia about it with the foreign/traveller folks...

ji nahi, pagal hoon

I was in hampi for Holi this year and had an excellent time - I've heard it's dangerous for lone foreign women especially in the North but I didn't have any problems.
I think once I was covered in Holi paint (and I was covered) everyone was too frightened to mess with me.
Hampi's a pretty chilled place anyway so it was probably a pretty good place for me to play Holi, but I'm figuring there may be a similar feel in Pushkar?
If you know otherwise let me know but I'll be in India during that time anyway by the looks of it.
