The only immediate link (on Baramati and some other keywords) I find is this: http://www.mun.ca/rels/restmov/texts...nson/CYCLE.HTM

May well be completely off the mark; would be interested in further links.

From a bit of searching, it seems the four-faced Buddha as such is a fairly common concept.

as I know, it's common in the countries like Thailand and Myammar. I had tried to search few time in Indiamike.com/photos/temple and monumement but failed to get it, most I see like Shiva, Vishnu etc.

I am very interested about the history of four face buddha in India and what it call in Indian words "Four Face Buddha"

Many Thanks and best regards.

Er, have you tried searching the web at all? This might have taught you what state to look for anyway.

You'll find some Asian history and arts sites in the "links" link in my signature (post #2 above), maybe you can find something there. Or maybe some kind member will be in with the details.

If you know the Buddhist/[SE] Asian name for the Buddha in that posture (and I suspect you do), this might facilitate your searching.

Besides, if and how Paramathi or Bahramati relates to your question and/or to Jaisalmer remains unestablished so far. I'd suggest contacting your local Asian Studies university department if you really want to get to the bottom of it.

Base on quote 2 link for Baramati and refer to the wikipedia website, compare of both, it seem like Baramati is in the district of Pune with 100km away by road transport .

Just want to find out:
1.Is there a big "stone Nandi" in this place ?
2. There is a Four face buddha temple here?
3. According to some tips, the blonde buddha statue is standing in the middle of the temple and step on the "crowd of snake" ?
4. If possible, can I had a photo of the statue ?

Thank & best regards.

as far as I know there is only one Buddhist temple in Chennai and it is in the Egmore neighborhood, it's administered by Sri Lankan Buddhists.
