Well it is just a "theory"....not a fact but theory and it should be seen with the same viewpoint.

My post was just deleted :-(. Calling an ignorant person ignorant is against the rules here. Well arguing with a few people here is not going to save the world. Just remembered yesterday my friend pointed to out me that I used to do something before, and I told him I was ignorant. I call my self ignorant, I have been ignorant all along since I read the AIT in my text book, until i found the truth. |

Mod note: Qwan, as you well know, and since you bring it up, and since that is against the rules, your post was deleted for language beyond 'ignorant'.
If that is clear, we can get back- civilly- to the topic, such as it is. |

Now THAT'S some spin. Very inventive, and good to see at least some of us can maintain a detached humor about the subject. Are you implying that the new aryans will write hymns to the god of greed and smilies? Instead of Soma, the worshippers will get whacked out on Cheez-wiz? |

I should comment to some of the above I guess, just taking my time. Meanwhile, some more reading, for whom it may interest. Quite instructive I thought, although I don't expect it to change a thing:
Online Journal of Indology: Conferences: End of Aryan Invasion Theory?. Do scroll down there for comments to this short and triumphant announcement. Steve Farmer, one of the respondents there: Horseplay in Harappa, a collection of articles surrounding another polemic in the field (and involving Witzel again, surprise). Note that parts of these are offered in Hindi translation as well. For HTML versions of the .pdf files here, see Frontline's archives here and follow-up editions here, notably this one. One of the articles mentioned there and a worthwhile read: K.N. Panikkar (in Frontline, originally presented at a round table on "The Rewriting of History: Intellectual Freedom and Contemporary Politics in South Asia" in 2000): Outsider as enemy. The politics of rewriting history in India.
