ashram experience

New member here. Just heard about IM and am so happy about it. I will be going to India in September. Going for immunizations tomorrow...too much reality. I'm beginning in Kolkata and am very interested in living in an ashram and working and studying for at least two months. Thought I'd check to see if anyone out there has done this and what their experience was. Thanks in advance!

I assume you mean something else by an ashram, but the Visva-Bharati University (founded by Rabindranath Tagore) would seem like an interesting option to me for serious study in the wider Kolkata region. From a quick glance it appears you need to apply well in advance and follow at least a year-long course so probably impractical for now but maybe something to check out either way or keep in the back of your head or something, I know I will.
