Advice Needed

Hi

I was wondering if someone may be able to help me. this post will probably be a little vague as I am not 100% sure of what I am looking for.

I am a 27 year old British woman who is looking to spend about 4/5 months in India, I am a little wary of the whole backpacking alone road, but am thinking that I would like to take more of a spiritual path (I am not trying to find anything, more be open to different things) and would also like to learn yoga (have never done it) while I am there.

Can anyone recommend a place I can stay for a long course, that combines these things?

I think you might want to go to Rishikesh, Haridwar. These are holy towns of india and are close to each other, about 20 miles apart.

Rishikesh is frequented by a lot of foreign tourists and a number of them stay there for a long durations. You feel not feel out of place. You can also learn yoga at one of the ashrams on the bank of River Ganga.

I think it will be perfect beginning. After spending a while you can decide about what to do next.

i know only of one place- Vrindavan

Vrindavan- BLISS...

nothing comes even close to its spirituality, multi-spirituality. several sects, religions operate there. the livelihood is spirituality. people earn from god, give to god and yet do not fool anyone. they are totally dependent on God for supporting their lives and families...
its what real heaven could be.
but there are others who do not find free ashram stays, cheaper commuting, interacting with saints, yoga, meditation and spirituality, of too much concern. for them, cleanliness, weather, crowd is all they can see...

well, for you to decide.

On the topic of Vrindavan...I can't be there for months...My 3 daughters and I will be in India for only 9 days...in Feb/March.

And We do plan on going to Vrindavan (From Delhi where we'll be staying) one or two days..perhaps on Holi...as We'll be there for Holi and I thought Mathura and/or Vrindavan would be a better place to celebrate that than Delhi. But we likely will go there one day earlier in the trip as well.

Can you give me any tips on what to do/see in Vrindavan for those couple of days we go?

Blessings,
Ginger

Vrindavan is a great place and I like it (though some other parts of Vraja like Varsana much more), but this place, no meter how spiritual it might be is still on earth and has it's earthly problems.. for example:
