Trip to Lava/Loleygaon/Rihsop & Ravangla

Dear Friends,

We want to visit Lava/Loleygaon/Rishop & Ravangla. I have made an itenerary for this trip. Please give some inputs on the following if it is incorrect: -

1> Dec14: NJP - Lava
2> Dec15: Lava - Sight seeing & N/S
3> Dec16: Way to Rishop after visit Loleygaon, N/S at Rishop
4> Dec17: Way to Ravangla after breakfast
5> Dec18: Ravangla Sight seeing N/S
6> Dec20: Way to NJP

Kindly give some idea on the journey hour (by jeep) and approx. reserved jeep fare for the following:-

NJP to Lava =>
Risop to Ravangla =>
Ravangla to NJP =>

We are 6 adults and 1 child in whole trip.

Njp to kalimpong.(by car Rs 1200)Go to kalimpong first.
You can also stay at DELLO HILLS tourist lodge in kalimpong.
Sight seeing. 2 days

Then Lava and Lolegaon in one day,stay at any of these two.1 day.

Rishop - i have heard good but never went there.

Ravangla is in Sikim.So if you like to go there (west sikim) visit Pemiyangsi,Rinchengpong. 2 days

Thanks Panu!! What would you suggest best in terms of nature beauty? Rishop or Lava?

I cannot understand why you chose Ravangla which is at other side that is in South Sikkim. Include Gorumara National park famous for Rhinos and Elephants instead of Ravangla. It will add variety to your trip.

Thx for the information. I've heared that the scenic beauty of Ravangla is awesome. Thats why I chose Ravangla. I also heared that Kanchenzangha view is fantastic from Ravangla. What you suggest instead of Ravangla in Sikkim in respect of scenic beauty.

there is enough accommodation option in ravangla, do not think of that too much.
Basically ravangla is a halt of road between gangtok to pelling or geyzing.last time i stayed at ravangla in 2003,then it was not so village type place.the hotels are on the both side of the road with many shops & restaurant.but do not know the current situation, though in 2005 i passed by the town during my journey from pelling to gangtok. I am sure one can move after dark if the electricity is ok.

Is it possible to cover trek to Rishop from Lava(one way) and back to Lava in a single day(taking a jeep for return)?

Yes yes absolutely possible to trek to and fro Rishyop and Lava..takes 1.5 hours one way. its better to trek.
