Train during moonson

Hello, we are thinking to go to djarleeling over 10ºth July, just in middle moonson,I know.

We think travel by train from Kolkata and I have a pair of question:

It´s possible to link the train that arrive at New Jalpaiguri at 8:00 A.M from Kolkata with the toy train that depart from New Jalpaiguri at 9:00.A.M

And, The train run without problem during the moonson or can be blocked by rains?

Normally trains are not affected, unless there is disruption due to storms or rain(flood) water on the train tracks. So you should be fine.
As regards connecting to Toy Train, I would consider 1 hour change over time might to be risky as the first train might get delayed for some reason (trains here do get delayed). So it is better if you travel by a train that arrives earlier at NJP (there are quite a few). You can then travel with peace of mind.
