it's better to stay at Lava, and visit loleygaon from there. west bengal forest dept.'s wooden accomodation at lava are best to stay.
i suggest you can walk upto lava from rishop through the view point. there is a small pine forest at hilltop, spend some time there, it's a nice place, fresh air with natural fragrances of pine and local flowers.

Hi Aneeta,

You can consider staying at Delo also. There is beautiful bunglow maintained by DGHC. We went there in the month of April last year. You can book it from it's Kolkata Office (near Birla Planetorium). From Delo, we visited Lava and Kalimpong. Lava is 1 -1.5 hrs journey via maruti omni from Delo. The scenic beauty enjoyed at night from the balcony of Delo's bunglow is mesmerising. The car booking is done from the bunglow's reception. One thing that must be taken into consideration is that food is not so great there. But any momo-lover would be more than happy to taste momo from the shop just beside premise of bunglow. You can see the pics from my facebook account also.

Dello is nice place to stay. You can make a trip to Lava and Kalimpong in separate days from Dello. You can book car from Dello DGHC's reception. Around Rs. 1700 /- it would take to arrange a trip to Lava & kalimpong separately. Each trip would take one whole day to go to kalimpong and return Dello.

Hi Aneeta,
I've visited those places in May,2012. Avoid Lolegaon, there is nothing to see, everything has been destroyed by ....
Stay at Rishyap 2nights, and don't forget to visit Chhange Falls from Lava. If possible stay at Kolakham within Neora Valley Forest. It is on the way to Chhange Falls from Lava. Nothing is there at Delo Hill. But Delo is attractive for children only. It will be better, take a car from NJP or Siliguri for Rishyap via Kalimpong (Graham's Home, Delo Hill, Orchid Nursery).
I can give you more detailed plan if you need so.

Nothing is there at Delo Hill.. I could not digest it. Yes in terms of sight seeing, it has lesser value with respect to Kalimpong/Lava. But of course, one should spend one night at Delo to enjoy the pristine beauty and tranquility around there.

The unforgettable trip to kalimpong

Thanks to all who helped me for this trip.we stayed at alakananda resort at kalimpong.it was so nice, specially the service.there was none but we in the resort at that time and we enjoyed a lot there.the collection of pine view nursery was awesome, other places to see are as usual nice, specially the monastery.next day we started for dello, grahams school was on our way,we stayed at dello in dghc resort for a day.the surroundings was beautiful and charming, the food was very tasty.the night view of kalimpong from dello reminded me of las vegas.we enjoyed the morning too,the greenary, the glimpse of the river rangeet was marvellous.we then started for lava, the journey to lava was very nice.we stayed at paradise hotel near the monastery, bengali food is available in this hotel and the service so so,the mpnastery was nice and i was glad to see the lava high school .lava people are very nice specially the lava syndicate, they helped us a lot.next day we started foe rishop, the journey was breathtaking as the car followed the trekking route.we stayed at hotel pandim, uff i cannot forget the beauty of rishop.it was really heaven i cant express the beauty in words,we just felt the nature here, there wasno shop ,not any sound of human being but only sound of the nature.the home made food was very much delicious.i was simply spell bound to see the peaks of himalaya there in the dawn,we have a 360degree view of himalaya,i was mad to see themthe lasted for a long time.so i am requesting all my friend to visit rishop and to stay ther .we stayed for two days and was refreshed,i shall go there again again.the return journey to siliguri via garubathan an damdim was also beautiful.we areamazed to see the tea gardens there .tista was with us always .thus our trip was splendid.both of us are 50+but we had not faced any problems, the people are very much cooperating and helped us a lot.i loved this tour.
