Well Murshidabad is a district which is very large for a trip. I think you are talking of the places around Baharampur, the district HQ of Murshidabad. In that case, you should go to Lalbag, for the imposing Hazar Duari, Katra Masjid, and others. The easiest way to reach Baharampur is by road (if you are travelling from kolkata). Baharampur is approx. 200km from Kolkata, on NH 34, the road that links Siliguri. You can hire a car or board one of the plenty buses that go to Bharmapur/Malda/Raigunj/Siliguri/Coochbehar etc. All of these buses go via Baharampur. Alternatively, if you want to travel by train, you can catch the Lalgola passenger from Sealdah, and get off at Bahramapur court station. However, given the crowd and untidiness of the train this is not very reccomendable. I think there one Lalgola passenger which leaves Sealdah late at night , and you can get a reservation in that.

The best train to Murshidabad is now Hazarduari Ex, which runs daily. Just after taking lunch, one can take a boat to go upstream to see a couple of temples. Don't remember their names, but it can be found here, particularly there are some photos by Jorge Reverter. Then if time permits, another boat-ride downstream will take you to Siraz's tomb on the opposite bank. Next day, one auto-rickshaw or tanga / horse driven cart can be booked for a half-day tour of the town that will cover all the places. The afternoon can be spent at Hazar-duari museum. Next morning, there is an express train to bring you back to Kolkata.

4hrs would be challenging, because you almost always tend to encounter traffic jams near Barasat. It takes approximately 3hrs to reach Krishnanagar by bus, a car would take about half an hour less. Post Krishnanagar, the road is not good (at least it was not a year back, it was especially miserable near Debogram/Palasi). So, even if you make a conservative estimate, a car trip would not take less than 5 hrs. However, one good incentive of a road journey are the 'Shorbhajas' and 'Shorpuriyas' of Krishnanagar. If you are into sweets, you would not like to miss those

Sagarneel.

Dear Anett.
Bhedia is a small village like place situated beside river AJAY in BURDWAN district. There is a small rail station also. Actually this is the border of BARDHAMAN and BIRBHUM district and the next station to BHEDIA is SANTINIKETAN. From bhedia santiniketan is just 15-20 kms away. If you plan to go there you have to stay at Santiniketan.

Hasnabad

I have my own house at Basirhat. My mom lives there. The name of the place you mentioned is Bhebia not Bhedia. I am presently at Kolkata.

The moment you will reach Murshidabad, you'll find rickshaw-pullers to guide you in showing different places. But the Hazar-duari, Big Canon, Mirzafor's house, Katra Masjid and one the then businessman's house [I forgot the name] are the main attractions.
