Siliguri/ NJP

I've got about five hours between arrifing in Siliguri, and my train departing NJP, and am looking for recommendations for nice places where I can kill a couple of hours.

Ha ha ha….. that’s very common in Shiliguri. And we use to go to Hongkong market (to purchase some smuggled electronic goods / lighters / cloths etc) and then a visit to any bar / restaurant. But I cant recommend those bars to any tourist

Well, if you like to spend a couple of hours and have some beer you can visit Hotel Sinclairs (http://www.indiatravelite.com/accomm...rssiliguri.htm ). Or do not enter in the Siliguri town so early – spend a few hours in adjoining Tea gardens.

Hi Somnath, do you want the poor lady to get dethroated by the shopkeepers!!!!!

If you have more than 4hours at your disposal you can visit, Bhawani Pathaks temple at Bodaganj forest, it is near Sikarpur forest. and 35km from Siliguri.

Bhabani pathak is a legendery Dacoit during British Raj in India and the temple was built under his supervision, you will definitely like to spend some time at this place.

May I suggest you to go to Salugara pay a visit to the tiny tibetan gompa on the market place. It's a five kilometer ride by Sevoke road .
