Sandakphu or Lachung in April/May 2009 - Urgent advice needed

Hi,

I am from Hyderabad and taking a week off. I shall arrive in Kolkata on Saturday night and leave next Saturday morning and essentially have 6 days.

I have two options. One is to go to Sandakphu (trek or landrover)

Second option is go to pelling and Lachung valley.

In the first option I have the option to trek and in second option it seems like its road journey all along

If my needs are
(a) Closest and clearest view of kanchenjunge
(b) Wildlife photography
(c) Rhododendrons
(d) Orchids

Which one should i choose? Sandakphu or Lachung/Pelling?

BTW I have been to Darjeeling, Gangtok, Pelling before 5 years back.

Earliest reply would be appreciated since I am travelling tomorrow

My suggestion Sandakphu

It is a difficult choice but I think given your parameters I'd go for Sandakphu.
