| Sandakfu Trek in Dec-Jan Hi, I am planning a trip with folloing schedule: December 27 - Trek to Tumling from Manebhanjan (2900 Mt.) 11 km. December 28 - Trek to Kalipokhri (3108 Mt.) 14 km. December 29 - Trek to Sandakphu (3636 Mt.) 7 km. December 30 - Trek to Gurdum (2910 Mt.) 14 km. December 31 - Trek to Rimbik (2286 Mt.) via Sirikhola, 13 km. Is it feasible? I am specifically concerned about snowfall and bad weather. Can anyone help me with info? Regards Sourav |

| we r there in 2nd of jan...it is quite feasible... our trip 3rd jan--start frm manebhanjan N/S at gairibas... 4th jan--start frm gairibas N/S at sandakphu... 5th jan-- start frm sandakphu at arnd 9 am...reaching rimbik via sirikhola at arnd 4pm...then take a car to darjeeling...n?S at darjeeling 6th jan-- darjeeling 7th jan--darjeeling 8th jan --darjeeling 9th jan-- train frm njp it might look a bit odd though... we had a plan to go to phalut frm their return via male rimbik... but one of our frnd had headeche, vomit....& we had to cut shrt our trek journey ...u can get several rest house at chitre tumling tonglu gairibas kalipokhri.... best of luck for the trip....  |

| after 11 or 12am weather might get bad....but no need to worry abt that....if u get luky then u might get snowfall....we got only frost though no snow fall.... hard luck....but one thing 4 sure we will enjoy the trip & it is very easy...only the last 4 km frm bikebhanjan is a bit tough... u can get guide porter frm manebhanjan...its available....but i can say u that there is no need of that....they will say it is neccesary to take a guide (govt reg...will carry only 10 kg )to enter the forrest but that is not true.... u had to buy tickets frm gairibas & u hav to pay extra 4 digcam or moviecam...but there is no further checking ... hope help u a bit....best of luck...  |
