Dear All,

My wife has recently recovered from her abortion. I am planning to go to Ghoom or any other nearby remote cold places to spend with my wife for 3-4 days to recover our pain and shock. Are there any other places there which are not crowded and cold? I have heard about Lepchajagat, is it good?

Where are the other remote cold places/hill stations are there, where we both can spend peacefully? Is going to Ghoom is a good option?

Can you suggest any other places which are remote and calm?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Kaushik

Dear Kaushik,
keeping in mind your requirement would suggest "Borong" a perfect place for the situation...

Kaushik,
Near Ghoom/Lepchajagat, There is a place called Jorpokhri. It is about 1 km uphill from Sukhipokhri (between Lepcha and Ghoom). One DGHC bunglow is there. Nice place ... There are many other place in North bengal, but near Ghoom this one is good, Lepchajagat is also good.

Rgds,
In Sikkim, there are many places, like Kaluk (stay at Ghoday resort - www.ghondayresort.com), Vershey, Borong (as mentioned by Sayan) stay at WILD FLOWER RETREAT (http://www.abouthimalayas.com/content.php?id=55), Rabangla (babumashai) and many more are there.

Hi kaushik,
Yes Lepchajagat will be good for you both. As suggested by others you can also try some place in Sikkim like Borong,Kaluk or Yuksom. Do let us know for any other details.

Hi Kaushik,

I know words can't releive the pain you are going through, however, it is good to see that you are planning a trip to try and erase the pain. Lepchajagat is a nice place away from the madding crowd, and the only option to stay there is the WBFDC TRH, which can be booked from their Kolkata ofiice at Sarat Bose Road. You can also think of Rishap in North Bengal. Although it is not close to Darjeeling, however, it is a small hamlet perched amidst raw nature, with a lot tranquility around.

Take care and God bless,

Sagarneel.

Hi kaushik,

Its a very sad incedent.

Anyway if you want to go near Ghoom, then try for a new place called Bagora. Its around 3 km from Karseung. The place is like a table top and the view from here is excellent. The height is almost 7200 feet, you will get a chilled weather. Moreover the place is very much less crowded, nobody is there to disturb you.If you like to have some more info kindly let me know.

Dear Sagarneel,

Thanks my friends for your valuable suggesstions and sympathy. We were planning for our 1st baby after 4 years and she got a miscarriage. We are both in deep sorrow.

I was looking for a place which will can be recahed in less time and distance. I will certainly look for Borong, as prescribed by Sayan, Sagarneel (Borong), Bagora (Soumik), Jorpkhiri, Kaluk (Dr. Sarkar).

Are anybody there in those spots? Will you please describe a more, if anything is there in Dooars area. We have spent our honeymoon at Lava, Lolegaon, Rishop, Gorumara, Murti, Bindu and those spots. Any other remote spots in dooars?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Love and regards,

Kaushik

Hi Kaushik,

I understand and fully sympathise with your pain, however, being a person with a medical background, let me assure you that with all the advancements made in the recent years, you should not lose hope.

I did not suggest Borong btw, infact I suggested Rishap, however, since you have already been there, I would rethink. You can definitely opt for Dooars, specially if you are planning during the monsoons.....that region is beautiful when it rains.

Sagarneel.

Dear All,

How is Mongpong/Samsing to stay for 1/2 day? Can I go to Lepchajagat from there?

Can anybody plan the tour guide starting from NJP station-Mpngpong/Samsing-Lepchajagat-Jorpokhri-NJP.

I prefer to use public transport/shared taxis rather than booking a car for my whole tour, which is very expensive. Please guide me from where I will take bus/taxi I go to Lepchajagat/Mongpong? What will be the charges?

Regards,
Kaushik

Samsing is a nice place... But I will suggest Suntalekhola, near Samsing... there is WB Forrest department cottages.. its in great location.. If you remember the film Nishijapan... its look like the same place (not sure though)... You can go Chalsa, Samsing, Garumara from that place...
