Poush Mela 2008

Hello,

does anyone know the exact dates of this year's Poush Mela? Oh, and has anyone actually visited the mela? Where to stay, what to see, the logistics? And just in case there are several: I mean the event in Shantiniketan some time at the end of December.

Thanks for any advice.

It should be around 21-22 December,
There are plenty hotel and guest house
around shantiiketan to stay, but you require
to book prior arrival there, Shantiniketan
is about 3 hours by Road/Train from Calcutta.
there are frequent trains to/fro Bolpur, which
is the Rail head for Shantiniketan. let us
know if you require any particular Information.

Thanks chief, this is more or less what I have found out myself. Now I do need specific dates (I arrive in Kolkata on Dec 20) and hotel recommendations - preferably in the less-than-Rs1500 range.
