Please suggest a 2-3 days teahouse trek option
Hi Friends
this time it's September...yea I know not a good time for trekking but what to do... this is my off time... Please suggest few 2-3-4 days trekking trails in Bengal/Sikkim or nearby areas. It'll be good to walk up to some high altitude to get some breathtaking views of snowy peaks (or even snow lol). My brother will be accompanying me his time, so I won't need any porter... we'll be doing it all ourselves... just that we can't carry any tents or cooking materials, so only tea-house trekking trails are under our hunt... pls help me guys

How about the highest point of West Bengal , Sandakphu
Hi Anunoy,
I think your best bet would be the Sandakphu trek, if you can extend your duration from 2-3-4 days to 5 days (and also if you haven't been there yet).
It can be done Siliguri to Siliguri in 5 days.
1. Siliguri to Maneybhanjang -> trek to Tumling 9000 ft. approx. (stay at Tumling - a little long trek)
2. Tumling - KaliPokhri via Gairibas (stay at Kalipokhri)
3. KaliPokhri - Sandakhphu 11,900 ft (stay at Sandakhphu)
4. Sandakhphu - Tumling (stay at Tumling)
5. Tumling - Maneybhanjang -> back to Siliguri in car
All these places have descent fooding and lodging options available. In some cases you won't even need a sleeping bag. Only thing is that you might have to book your transport on the last day before hand.
And September wont cause much of a problem , well if the monsoon thinks that it should stop raining at proper time .
And if you are lucky enough you would be able to see the highest peak and the 3rd highest peak of the World standing on the highest point of West Bengal.
Thanks
Pabs

Pabsmuns is very much right... Sandakphu trek will be best for you.
But, Anunoy you can go upto Dhotray by car instead of Manevanjan. As Tonglu is very nearer to Dhotray, you can reach on the same day upto Tumling (2km from Tonglu) and can save a day.
