Lava & Lolegaon

Hi,
Can any one tel me the budget for 4 days tour in Lava, Lolegaon & rishap. Is Dec is suitable for this tour ?

Tell me how many people are going, then only budget can be said.
However, you can estimate Rs. 3000 per person for a five day tour.Again, let me know the number of persons going.

You may go ahead like this-Siliguri to lava(via Gorubathan=100 Km)by taxi or by bus from P.C.Mittal bus stand at Siliguri.Bus departure time for LAVA at 12-10,fare Rs.85/-per head.Time :4 hrs,Lodge at WBFDC Cottage @ 800/- per day.Book from Kolkata.see the web site www.wbfdc.com.Lava to Rishop=7 Km.Trek or hire a jeep,cost about 600/-,better to go on foot,condition of road not good.Lava to Lolegaon=24 Km hire a jeep from lava taxi stand.fare is fixed.Private hotels at lolegaon.there is also hotels of WBFDC though presently no booking due to some past local problems.
LAVA,LOLEGAON,RISHOP are rich for scenic,please go and enjoy.Now there is no disturbances,local people are excellently good,friendly.Fooding cost is not more,within the reach.less costly than darjeeling,kalimpong.

Are you sure about the timing ?? Does the bus ply everyday?? We are just 3 people going on 19th june & its gonna cost a lot if we reserve a car on our own.

This timing as on 5th June,2011.I went lava on that day,by the bus at 12-10.I can assure u that bus ply regular but keep in mind that only one bus per day ply for lava.

We went Lava- Lolegaon on 22nd April 2011. There we saw the WBFDC cottages are totally destroyed by GJM people. Even the Cannopy at Lolegaon which was under WBFDC supervision is also closed by them. So don't target for WBFDC, you will get another Hotels/Lodge.

It will be fantastic.Entire mountain range including Kanchenjunga will be distinctly visible against blue backdrop specially from Rishyap.
For Lolegaon I will prefer DGHC bunglow for lodging.

We'll visit Lava-Lolegaon-Rishap in the last week of August. Could you please suggest some good hotels/ resorts to stay in? I saw the name of 'Neora Valley Resort' in Rishop in some post here. I have aleady contacted them and looks like booking will get done with ease. We are looking forward to stay in WBFDC resort in Lava but really struggling to get the right way to get it booked. Found 6-7 contacts in their website...called in each one with no luck. Please advise how to book the resort. For Lolegaon, our target is DGHC resort and here as well I need help to get it booked. Please assist. Thanks in advance.

Thanks very much Funny_in! It was of real help. I called 'em up n shared our itinerary. They will get back with availability details. However, for Lolegaon, they have Yankee stay. Do you know if this is a good place to stay in terms of feeling surrounded by the Himalayas? You know....the priority is nature...not luxury in stay!

In Lolegaon the WBFDC resort was fantastic, but I hear presently they are closed. I have no clue of Yankee hotel there, but Lolegaon is a very small town so I am sure you will get good views from there as well. Anyway, I think there is no luxury stay in Lolegaon(but WBFDC resort was in a huge area with beautiful cottages).

Ya....I'm aware of that mishap. Do you have an idea how can I reach out to book DGHC resorts? It would be great if you can also suggest me some idea of roaming around/ visiting places during our holidays. Our itinerary is as below:

1) Sep 28: Reching NJP at around 9 AM. Heading for Rishop; check in.
2) Sep 29: Full day stay at Rishop.
3) Sep 30: Check out after breakfast; heading for Lava. Check in.
4) Oct 01: Full day at Lava.
5) Oct 02: Check out from Lava post breakfast; heading for Lolegaon.
6) Oct 03: Check out in the afternoon, heading for NJP.

hi, we are planning to visit lava loleygaon rishyap and kalimpong on march 2012.please help me about private hotels or resorts at lolegaon and pedong.we are almost 15 peoples with our wifes and childrens.

please help me to get the information about lolegaon and pedong privte hotels or resorts.

Please advise the distances between Rishyop, Lava and Lolegaon and also the distance and mode of travel between Darjeeling to Rishyop or Lolegaon or Lava? Actually in early April twelve of us are going from Kolkata to Darjeeling and then 8 out of 12 of us are to proceed towards Maneybhanjan for Sandakphu-Falut-Srikhola trek. The rest are not able to trek and so want to cover by car Lava-Lolegaon before meeting us at Sandakphu till which it is motorable. It will help us a lot if you can suggest a feasible and economical way to go about this.
