 Inspite of this people call me a bad photographer

DIGHA
I have visited Digha 7-8 times from my childhood but in last 11 years i did not go Digha for crowd and Dirt. But DIGHA has changed a lot and very clean beautiful roads and beach is being maintained. Throwing Cigarette butt ends or polypacks may cause you a fine of Rs 500/ Rs 1000/- and this law is working.

Hi Panu,
Would you please convert your photos to thumbnails as you are taking up TOO much space here. Thank you. The "edit" feature is still operational for you.

It's not that you are a bad photographer but a bit too prolific for the IndiaMike bandwidth.

You also have a Photo Gallery here on IM. Maybe you might like to post some of your selected pics there.

This road tax is a kind of Extortion in uniform ,
Though I have not paid this tax anytime during my
frequent driving holidays through Jaleswar ( Orissa
Border ) . I had asked lot of forum members to standup
against this extortion and collectively approach to
resident commissioner at utkal bhawan , kolkata against
this menace,
so far there has been very lukewarm responses , seems people
are too happy to pay and forget .

Cheers

dear moderator
I have converted most of my pictures in direct link form, and kept few 4-5 pictures in its original form.

Is there any process of converting these in thumbnails by any edit tools in the posting process? Or i should reload these pics in Imagevenue type of servers which allow thumbnails???

New member. Not really aware of IM rules.Thanks.

Mousourik

Shakuntala lodge is a collection of huts on just oppoiste to Panthanibas . Clean ,cosy , Tiled huts with falls plastic ceiling inside . Attached bath. Dining available, good cook.
No water problem.Generator , car pakring available.
Rate 300 per hut double bed, 500 for 3 bed , 600 for
6 bed.

Panthsala and panthanibas are in same premises.Panthanibas are cottages and panthasalas are rooms. Its very beautiful place with garden and hills on the back side. Better book these before (OTDC).

Trek upto waterfall is in Panhalingeswar (Debgiri hill).
First you cross 250 steps to reach the temple. Then there is a stone road beside the temple shrine, inside dense jungle, where you should trek for another 4 km up.You can get another very old shrine called BONDEVI MONDIR here.

You can take a guide most of them are teenage boys ,They will take Rs100 - 150 for the whole day.Without Guide you can also manage as lots of people are going there.

KINGS watchtower can be reached from Panthanibas on th eopposite side of the hill - a distance of 5 km by car , and then a trek of 4 km in jungleroads. 4+4 km trek and 5+5 km Car run. In rainy season roads are muddy. There is a new lodge here inside the jungle. The place is safe.

We took a guide called Vivek Mallick a 17 years boy who
spent the whole day with us in Panchalingeswar hill and Kings watchtower and demanded Rs 120/-

There is another place called Kings Palace. 7-8 km car distance from Panthanivas.

Use Photobucket. Google it, log in (register, whatever), upload your pics, thumbnail them.

Edited later:

Yes, looks a lot better now! Thank you.

Hi Panu ,

Great Info.

Except for the GQ and the Digha Kolkata stretch , could you comment based on your recent experience if the rest can be done in a hatch back ?

O Yes most of the cars in this roads are hatchbacks.Kolkata to panchalingeswar/Kuldia/chandipur Roads are excellent. You can go in 100km/hr speed safely. The Talsari and Kanthi roads are a bit rugged but still hatchbacks are running like deer cubs in these roads.
In the panchalingeswar there are some clay roads to reach the kings watchtower.Avoid Rainy season that's all.

Hatchbacks are charged RS 800/- by Orissa entrance checkposts.

Unfortunately I know it first hand !!!. Drove down to Gopalpur on Sea on Mahalaya for a few days.

There was no checking when I entered Orissa , they conned the tax when I was driving out , towards Kolkata.
Since it is valid for 6 months , might as well do another Orissa trip in the winter

This tax is absolutely Illegal and we must raise our voice against it. I am writing a letter to ORISSAS TRANSPORT MINISTER (through some proper channel) and interested in SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN against this extortion.

Can we collect signatures by some means through this forum???
Moderator.......can you help???

Make a trip Panchalingeswar + kuldia

If you want to make a second trip go after November 15 so that you get KULDIA open.KULDIA forests entrance is 4 km before Panchalingeswar hill.Thr whole area is Nilgiri Hill range.

Boook Panthanivas in Panchalingeswar and KULDIA FOREST lodge in advance.

Is this the Nilagiri Palace, or is there another King's Palace near Panchalingeswar?
