How long does it take to reach Buxa from Cooch Behar.
I'm considering to hire a car for a day trip to Buxa and hope we have then enough time to enjoy it.

4 days and 3 nights for Jayanti, Buxa, and Jaldapara
Thanks everyone for the very helpful and inspiring posts. I have booked my train tickets and now in the process of booking hotels. My first failure is Hollong. I did not get it, already booked. So, I have booked Madarihat Tourist Lodge for November 27th night. I am now looking to book the Forest Department bunglow.
I am reaching New Alipurduar on November 25th morning and returning on 28th November Saraighat Expr. 4:47 p.m. from New Alipurduar.
Please kindly advise on my tour planner and where to stay on 25th and 26th night.

Anyone stayed at RBK (Buxa--Jungle-Lodge) of WB Forest Development Corporation? How is it. As per the information it is situated near Rajabhatkhawa. Please give some input.
It is in Rajabhatkhawa and situated near rail way line...all that I know about it.but I didn't stay there.

mentioning how many days you are willing to stay. They will book and send you a confirmation over post. All money will have to be deposited at the time of the stay and not at the time of booking.
Rates I can't stay.. we stay for official duty @350/- but they may charge outsiders atleast 1200/DBR

Don't call 1st because even you are told there is no booking yet you get one as they wait for last 10-15 days before giving you permission.

I want to add some more information to what dip wrote, as I visited jainti recently....
Booking FRH is a difficult tasK for tourists.I tried hard to book but they kept me waiting till the last moment.By then I got confirm reservation at PHE bungalow and decided not to book the FRH.
Now there are a number of private accommodation available at jainti. I will particularly name a hotel ROVERS IN which have enough rooms to accommodate 25 persons.But for that it may be needed to book them advance.
