Manjusha Hotel is a nice hotel with a beautiful garden and a great location but the rooms and the service are absolutely basic. Two years ago no hot water was available at the rooms and no food at all.

I don't remember about hot water or not but when I was there last year there was certainly food - served in a kind of open-sided hut in the garden - but then I was there at a busy time, New Year, and the hotel was fully occupied. Don't know if they would necessarily serve food if not so many guests. And the food was pretty basic really.

There are great small restaurants near the palace - a short walk from the Manjusha. If the Manjusha isn't busy the restaurant did not function (Oct/ Nov last year) but what I expect was street-stall food was brought in - pretty basic. Murshidabad is just wonderful, stay several days at least. There's a really interesting Nawabi cemetery there, amongst many other things.
