From Kolkata to Dakshineshwar

Hello everyone!

I am reaching Kolkata tomorrow evening around 5pm...err officially..we all know about the train delays. Is it a good idea to plan to go to Dakshineshwar straight away and try and find a place there or is it better to stick in the city and try n make my way there in the morning. How far is it and what is the cheapest and best way of getting from calcutta to dakshinshwar?

Any good budget hotels in Kolkata too?

Cheers,
Sudheesh

I think its better to go to Dakshineshwar the next day morning-more convinient for darshan and puja.
Easiest way to reach is train from Sealdah-take the Dankuni local, its cheapest and fastest way to reach there.Dakshineshwar is the 4th station from Sealdah.

Thank you Claw Hammer...i also figured during my stay there, if anyone else is listening and would like to know, u can take a bus fr some some places in the city (Ask around) to go to Dunlop, which is very frequent. From there dakshineshwar is a short RS3.50 shared auto ride!
