from Bagdogra airport to Darjeeling

Hello,

In a few days we will fly from Delhi to Bagdogra.
From there we want to go to Darjeeling.

What is the best way to do this?
I saw that you can get a bus to Darjeeling from Siliguri,
but what are my options if I want to go from the airport?

How much time and how much will it cost me?

thanks in advantage

From the Airport you will get shared Jeeps, they might charge around Rs.150-200 per passenger..it will around 4-5 hours for the trip...

You can also hire the entire Jeep from close to Rs.1500.

Once you come out of the gate of the airport, you will come across the drivers who will be asking you where you want to go...just talk to them and they will fix you up..there vehicles are parked in the parking of the airport itself..

Darjeeling Info :)

As Shashank says, its best to go to Darj. from the airport itself. I should imagine Maruti Taxi's are still plying. When I was studying in one of the schools in darj, we used to pay around 700/- for a taxi ride to darj. It used to take us 3 hrs to get up the hill and for some reason always wanted to take the "Pankhabari" road (it was a more adventurous than the Jalpaiguri route...)

Ofcourse the toy train is still running. and very well worth a ride. Ofcourse this journey is more of a tourist's "promenade" rather than a method to get to darj. More here: http://www.dhr.in

Our School alumni website has got a lot of info on darj - places to see and things to do. Here : http://www.zubin.com/darjeeling

Enjoy yourselves. Darj is really beautiful!
