Regarding Dhanyakuria, in the article of the Telegraph it is written : "Entry into the palaces and temples and photography are subject to the permission of owners."
How to get this Permission before going ??? because if we reach there and are not aalowed to visit, it'll be a great disappointment
also, what is the nearest railway station fron Dhanyakuriya for coming back to Kolkata ?
I have heard it is better to visit the place during the time of Durga Puja ... is it true ??
what are the places that can be covered n this Taki-Dhanyakuriya Route ??

Taki and Basirhat
I went out east yesterday and had a great day but I didn't actually make it to Dhanyakuria.
I went to Taki first on a very crowded train from Sealdah, and went straight to the river Icchamati on a cycle-van. I thought the town was very nice - quiet, clean and spacious, lots of trees and ponds and no cars or lorries or buses.
The river was very wide and beautiful, and what was great was that there was a raised bund (to protect the town as the river is tidal here) with a surfaced path along it, really pleasant to walk or cycle along but no motor traffic. There were a few food stalls and 2 lodges (I'll give the details later).
The BSF have a camp here (complete with condom machine on the gatepost) as the river is the international border with Bangladesh.
I agree with what Bhaswaran said earlier in that I think it would be really beautiful in the early morning, I would like to go again next year for a night or two.
The 2 lodges on the riverside were the Municipality one (phone (95) 03217 233-328 or 234-481, double rooms 200 -300Rs); and Suhasini Guest House (phone 03217 234108 or 322212, double rooms 600-700Rs)
I didn't see rooms in either as they were both fully booked but I thought the Suhasini looked much nicer. The municipal lodge looked grubby.
Basirhat is a bigger town with more traffic. I walked to the river, and over the bridge but I didn't investigate how to get to Dhanyakuria as I was quite tired and decided to just go back to Kolkata. There were buses and shared autos next to the bridge so the thing to do for Dhanyakuria would probably be to get a cycle-van from the station to the bridge/bus-stand and try from there.

We asked a travel agency in Kolkata to organize the daytrip to Dhanyakuria, they had never heard of it. I went to the internet and printed a route map, on this they recognized the nearby town Kholapota.
Our driver had never been on this road but he regular asked an so we reached the cross-road to Dhayakuria. Even on that cross-point many locals did not know anything about these palaces.
I'm about to complete my travel journal "Mainly the South" with more details about the trip.

If nyone wants to visit from kolkata by car, go till barasat via jessore road, from "champadali more" take taki road. Go straight till you cross "bibipur high school". you'll find a small plate indicating "nehalpur" soon after that. as soon as you see nehalpur take the first left turn. after about 3 -4 mins you'll come across these palaces.
if you dont take the left turn and go straight you'll find "gyne palace" bang on the taki road towards your left. It is said to be designed like windsor castle.

Dhanyakuria
Dhanyakuria is a very old village and still having those old Jamin Dar's House. This village is situated on the bank of river Bidhadhari.
There you will find 3 numbers of Jamin Dar's very big houses and two numbers of Bagan baries out there.
How to reach dhanyakuria:
Take bus from Barasat and get down at Nehalpur or Dhanykuria bus stand. Take a Rikshaw and you can roam around the village.
Can also take Train service but i think bus service is good.
You would not find any hotel for night accommodation out at dhanyakuria. will found dhaba for lunch.
bye saumitra mandal.

We went Taki on 3rd March 2012...It is a good place for weekend trip only...We stayed for one night at Suhasini Guest house ...Guest House in front of Ichamati river should be the first choice...View of Sunset from Boat on Ichamti river at evening was very nice..
Outlook of Suhasini Guest house was OK...Quality of Food was avg. ...But room service was not so good...

Khak, I used to think the closest station was Basirhat.
But I just looked at my Great Indian Railway Atlas (Samit Roychoudhury) and there appears to be a line called Barasat-Basirhat Light Railway running to the north of the main line going east from Barasat and it includes a station called Dhanyakuria Gaine Garden, between Sarupnagar and Arbalia. I don't know if this line is closed, under construction, operational ... but I'd like to hear the answer to your question too.

if you want to avail train then take Basirhat bound trains from Shealdha or barasat and get down at Kakra Mirzanagar or Malotipur. From those station reserve a auto or Motorized Van for Dhanyakuria.
