Day 3: Lolegaon site seeing. travel by car to Lava. visit Lava monastery. night stay at Lava (WBFDC cottage)
Day 4: Lava to Rishop (Trek 4 K.M).Rishop site seeing.night stay at Rishop(Lovely resort)
Day 5: sunrise at Tiffindara.trek back to Lava. take a car to visit Pedong and then back to NJP.At night train to Kolkata
Day 6: Morining Kolkata

My queries are:
1.where to stay in Lolegaon?
2.is canopy walk possible or it's closed nowadays?
3.what would be the car charges as per above plan?
4. will it be possible to cover day 5 tour and reach NJP by evening to catch train for kolkata?
In Loleygaon I stayed at Sunkhari Inn(GourDa'r hotel). I made booking through an agent who delivered the booking slips to me after reservation. His name is probably Abhijit Chakraborty. His mobile number is 98301-47718.

According to me one night is enough in Rishop. There are not too many places to see in Rishop except Tiffindara Sunrise View Point. But going there with your kid is not a good idea to me. There is a trekpath of 1 km from Rishop. I had gone alone. But will not recommend to anyone to go alone. It would be better to go either in group or with a guide. You can offcourse roam around in Rishop and enjoy the local scenic beauty.

WBFDC is the best place to stay in Lava. The best cottage is Gorkha 3 and Dupka 3. The booking can not be done online. For that you have to visit their office - either in BD Block of SaltLake or Subodh Mallik Square. But you can check the availibity of rooms online from the link -http://www.wbfdc.com/Our_Nature_Resorts.asp

In Rishop you can stay in Lovely Resort or Hotel Sonar Bangla. Charges are 850/- and 1250/- respectively. From Lava you can go by car or walk. The shared jeep charges 500/- per head for one way. If can go with a porter cum guide @350/- it will take 2 hours.
Hi Satyabrata, thanks a lot for the info.
Would like a few more details.
Cost of private vehicle (indica) from
a. NJP to Darjeeling
b. Darjeeling to Kalimpong
c. Kalimpong to Lava(2nts) to Rishop( 1nt) back to Kalimpong
d. Kalimpong- NJP

Since we will be traveling with a kid would like to go for private vehicle instead of shared. Do you think it shall be too expensive to hire the car for 3nts from Kalimpong?

Heavenly trip

Finally I could successfully complete my planned trip. Thanks to DJ and Satyabrata for their valuable suggestions. I'll try to write up a small travelogue on the trip. But for now, I'll try to answer 'laskar''s questions. See my comments in blue:

"Hi Satyabrata, thanks a lot for the info.

Cost of private vehicle (indica) from
a. NJP to Darjeeling They'll ask 2000 but you can burgain
b. Darjeeling to Kalimpong Donno this one
c. Kalimpong to Lava(2nts) to Rishop( 1nt) back to Kalimpong 1700-1800. Lava to Rishyap 500. But Indica wont ply in Lava and Rishyap. You'll need big cars
d. Kalimpong- NJP 1700

Since we will be traveling with a kid would like to go for private vehicle instead of shared. Do you think it shall be too expensive to hire the car for 3nts from Kalimpong?" If you hire for three nights you may get some discount. But expense will be less if you can hire a dry vehicle.

The picture shows different rates in Lava. Hope this helpsName: IMG_0315.jpg

Thanks a lot Neil. The rate chart is very helpful. But need a little clarification. Is the rate of vehicle from Kalimpong- Lava 1700-1800? Or is it the 3nts rate that you have quoted?
How many nights did you stay in Rishop? Is it really very beautiful?
Pls upload some pic and a detail tour so that I can get some idea for my trip.

Just I have completed a tour of Kalimpong-Lava-Lolegaon-Rishop on 22nd May
Here is some information for the friends who wiil plan a trip for this destinations.
1)Canopy walk at Lolegaon has been repaired & tourists can enjoy this upto 5 PM every day.Ticket is Rs 10/- per person.
2)Forest Cottage complex at Lolegaon is totally destroyed and no repairing work has been started till now & the entire complex ia abandoned
3)There is Bus service from Kalimpong at 8 AM which go first Lava(reaches at 10AM around) and then Lolegaon(Reaches at 11.30 AM).The said bus is departed fron Lolegaon at 12.30 Pm(the one & only bus service from Lolegaon). From Lava there are 2 additional bus service for Kalimpong at 7.30 AM & 8.30 AM
4)There is no sharing vehicle system at Lolegaon & Rishop. Total vehicle operation is under a syndicate & there is no chance for bargaining. Only at Lava a few service jeep is available for Kalimpong which can be used as sharing travel.
5)There is a severe water crisis at Rishop in all the Hotel & uncleaned Rainwater is supplied at room. As well as a electricity problem is very common at Rishop.
6)Road condition from Lava to Lolegaon is very very bad, vehicle can go only about 20 KM/hour but road from Kalimpong to Lava is good.

Thanks a lot for all the info. But if the WBFDC cottages are destroyed in Lolegaon what are the other option for stay there? If you can provide the contact for any other hotel in Lolegaon that will be very useful.

Smile Kaffer and Charkhole Lolegaon

@Jhinuk77 - In fact what we popularly know as Lolegaon is Kaffer Lolegaon, there is Charkhole Lolegaon too (12 kms from Kaffer Lolegaon) which is not that crowdy, but there is lack of accommodation there, only two hotels and a few home stay. In Kaffer, you can stay at Kaafal Guest House or Resort Tree Fern (http://neoravalley.wordpress.com/pla...l-guest-house/ and http://neoravalley.wordpress.com/pla...ort-tree-fern/), for Charkhole refer to http://www.holidayhomeindia.com/hhi_charkhole.html

Location wise Kanchanview is the best (http://www.holidayhomeindia.com/kanchanview.html), very good view of Mt. Kanchenjhengha there, other good options are Neora Valley (http://rishyap.wordpress.com/rishyap...valley-resort/) and Spring Vale (http://rishyap.wordpress.com/rishyap...ourist-centre/).

I have stayed in Neora Valley Resort in last December. Our group comprised 3 senior citizens, 2 adults & 2 kids (10 yrs & 3 yrs). I would like to go back to NVR if I get a chance again & certainly recommend it to any IMer. http://www.indiamike.com/india-image...s/mt-k-rishyap
