Lava

First of all during September last u may get rain at these places. Your itinerary may be like this:
Day 1: NJp to Kalimpong (must see flower nurseries, 300 years old Bong monastery, Delo Top)
Day 2: Kalimpong to Lava (Lava is not a sight seeing destination, its rather a natural destination where the most enjoyable part is the time spend in walking around the forest covered village roads. There are two sunset points named Ghanti Dara and Tiffin Dara (Dara means top of the hill). Lava Monastery is also a spot of interest of the tourists.
Day 3:Lava
Day 4:Rishap( It is just 4 k.m from Lava.u can go there by a short trek through Naora valley n Park. You’ll get the magnificent view of Kanchanjangha from here.)
Day 5:Rishap
Day 6:Rishap to Lollegoan.( from here you can get magnificent view of Greater Himalayan snow ranges over the entire horizon. Viewing sunrise over the snow peaks from Jhandidara - a wooded hilltop is life time achievement. wooden hanging foot bridge over the canopy of the huge trees is a special attraction. Popularly known as 'The Canopy Walk' it offers an unforgettable experience, which allows you to get close to the trees.)
Day 7:Lollagoan
Day 8:Lollegaon to Njp through Garubathan

At Lava and Lollegoan try to stay at WBFDC resort. They are the best staying option. Try to book it as early as possible. They offers 3 months advance booking.

Thumbs up

There are hotels but not sure about good view from there. Hotel Sonar Bangla allowed 5 person in one room (provided extra bed). So if you are team of 10… then ….
Come on, some extra tip can solve many problems.

Dear Novicetraveler,
I am trying to clear some points what have already been discussed corresponding to your queries in this thread.
First of all What I want to say is to stay only at WBFDC Tourist Banglow (very much within your specified expense) in Lava-Lolegaon.You can see their accommodotion details in their website www.wbfdc.com .You have to book their rooms/cotages right on 1 June 2009,3 months in advance. It is necessary because I shall specify also the name of the cottages you will book there, the cottages with best views which you may not get vacant if you delay. In Rishap WBFDC(Kolkata PH 033-2225-5684) doesn't have any accommodation nowadays, but they arrange it with Pvt Collaboration and the Pvt Resort is again at the best place like lava -Lolegaon in Rishap.
If you are a real lover of nature then the WBFDC Banglow at Lava is Awesome and You cannot but stay there for atleast 2 nights. The Caretaker there Mr. Tularam Pradhan is a very nice person and very much co operative. If you want I can send you some Pics by mail.
The tour program we will discuss too if you like to.
Please do not bother about Bandhs in hills, infact we also underwent a Bandh at Lava, and believe me, there was no violation, everything was so peaceful, infact, the nature was more enjoying.Only in some places you will see 'WE WANT GORKHALAND' poster, nothing else. Please run away the hindrance from your mind and go out for a beautiful. unforgettable tour.
