Lava-Lolegaon is famous for its natural beauties away from the hustle-bustle of city life. No such market places there.

Ofcourse you can visit Honk Kong market in Siliguri.

Hi, I have booked Lava forest bunglow for the 26th. & 27th. September, 2009. I have also booked for Loleygaon for 1 day on 28th. Sep. I have got reservation for 29th. Sept. at hotel Sonar Bangla, Rishap. I went to the office of "Wandervogel" near Picnic Garden Flyover who are authorized agent for WBFDC. I made my booking in Hotel Sonar Bangla through IRCTC.

Hi Everybody. I have just become member to this group but i have been an avid reader of this site for quite a long time. This thread is just awesome, informative and very cooperative. Special thanks to Apurba. Coming to my requirement I am looking for suggestion from the biggies of the site

I am going for Lollegaon-lava for honeymoon trip for 5 days from 16 Dec-20th Dec. The draft planner goes like this:

16 Dec-Arrive NJP by Darjeeling mail - take cab to Lava-Night stop at Lava
17 Dec - head for Lollegaon on afternoon
18 Dec-Stay in lollegaon
19 Dec-Proceed to Rishap
20 Dec- Return from Rishap to Bagdogra by 12 Noon for kolkata flight

Please suggest whether my quick trip makes sense and i am very much open for your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hi Apurb, Hope u have a fantestic journey in uttaranchal.

Apurba, if I visit Lava Lolegaon in end February' 2010, as i said before, will it be a good time to travel?? Do u have any idea about the weather at that time??

Actually my marriage is in the 1st week of Feb'2010 and I want to go to honeymoon in the same month, otherwise I have to wait for April.

At last Thanks a lot for sharing pho no. of Mr. Tularam Pradhan. I had talked to him and really he is a very polite person.

Yaah.. the trip was a fabulous one.
....... My wedding date is February 12 and I went to Honeymoon trip in the same place on 8 March, this year.The time is ideal for honeymoon trip because you wont find many people crowding there that time, actually in my trip we were the sole persons in WBFDC cottages both in Lava and Lolegaon, you can enjoy yourselves more in that silent beautiful nature if you visit that time.

is there any chance of snow fall at that time?? what about the cold in the month of feb??

Hi Apurba,

I need some help from you. I have planned my visit in the following manner (13-Oct to 18-Oct, 2009):
1. Start from Kolkata 13-Oct (by Volvo bus) to Siliguri
2. From Siliguri to Charkhol 14-Oct.
3. 15-Oct -> stay at Charkhol, visit Lolegaon (I have been to
Lava before, hence skipping this time due to time constraint)
4. 16-Oct -> Early morning, start for Rishap.
5. 17-Oct -> stay at Rishap
6. 18-Oct -> start from Rishap to NJP to Kolkata (19-Oct early
morning by Volvo bus).

Can you please let me know if the above tour plan sounds OK to you. Also I need some help in getting some information for the tour.

a). Plan to stay at Blue Pine Resort in Charkhol. Need to know the contact number for the Resort / method of booking please.
b). I am planning to take a Sumo/Qualis from Siliguri to Charkhol. Can you please give me some contact number and rate for the trip from Siliguri to Charkhol.
c). From Charkhol to Rishap, I need to go by car. Will I get some jeep/car from Charkhol. How should I go to Rishap? What would be the cost? I cannot trek because I will be going with my parents.

The temp will be around 8-15 degrees, with foggy mornings and evenings, no chance of snowfall.

You don't need to worry about cars from Siliguri to Charkhol which will cost around 2500.But i think as your tour is for 5 days you can book a cab for the whole trip @ Rs. 2200 per day.I do not have the contact nos of Charkhol'Blue Pine Resort.Why aren't you staying in Lolegaon?

Hi Apurba,

Thanks for your response. Actually I had stayed at Lolegaon earlier, hence opted for Charkhol this time (also heard about the solitude of Charkhol...which I prefer for my vacation).

As for car, I thought exactly the same as per your suggestion ie. to book for entire trip. I had contacted 'Gupta Travel Agency' in Siliguri..but the problem is they are telling that Scorpio/Qualis cannot go to Rishap. It will need a 4 wheel drive (Jeep). PLz suggest in that case what should I do? Also I was thinking since this is mainly a vacation trip (relaxing), full 5 days car booking would probably be a waste of money. Instead, can I get something from Charkhol to Rishap. From Rishap, I have made arrangements back to NJP.

Can anybody tell me what is the ideal time to visit lava lolegaon - Rishap ? Which month of the year does these places have snowfall ? I am interested in experiencing snowfall. Thanks in advance

HI Smitasg, LAVA-LOLEGAON-RISHAP do not experience snowfall every year in a regular basis.It is only Occassional. If you wanna enjoy Snowfall in north east, plan for North Sikkim in December.
