Darjeeling: Weather and Roads, Aug 2007?

Could anyone who is in and around please provide any information on the current weather and road conditions in (and to) Darjeeling?

Given the current heavy rains and flooding in North India, I am wondering if if it advisable to visit later this week. I've heard rumours of landslides on the approach roads. Any first hand (or regional TV report) information would be very much appreciated.

& Have a swell trip

I was there last week on the 2nd and 3rd the road is open but in poor shape..more rain can cause landslides and close the road. At present the rain has eased up so the road is OK

I'm in Darjeeling now and haven't had any problems with transport.
