I will be in Darjeeling and then Gangtok from June 10-16.
Can anyone give me an impression of the climate during that period. I think monsoon will settle there by that time. Anyone with practical experiences will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. regards, Bhaswaran ![]() |

Thank you very much Radjesh. What was the cost of lodging of this hotel? Did you book in advance? How is the location? Any views? nearer to jeep/bus stand?

Thank you Saajan for your tips. This is probably the seventh/eigth time I am going to Darjeeling, I have been there in November, decembner, january, March, April, May in different years. now i want to see the monsoon in the hills, and if possible, capture them. Kanchenjunga is not my prime target now, I have got a plenty of them in my stock. I am trying out something different this time. I did not even know what will come up in front of me, but there lies the challange. Lets see what I can get from my zero experience on himalayan monsoon photography. I might return empty handed or a few good ones. Anyway, I will enjoy it. Monsoon being my favorite season, I was born in it. regards, Bhaswaran ![]() |

Guys a small tip, if u r going to Nathula book well in advance, me there in first week of May. There was a 1 week waiting list to get permits, we couldnt make it. Due to the huge demand prices had up as well, for an individual now it costs 500 & if u r taking a whole jeep costs 5K, rates may even still go up in June... who knows
