Recently with an intention to visit and stay at Duarsini (Purulia), I dialed the contact number provided in the website of WBFDC. But I was told that all the three cottages are now closed and there is no assurance when it would be opened again.
If any one can provide me any information about alternative lodging there.

The WBFDC lodge at Duarsini has been closed since the last bomb-blast in 2010. There is no accommodation right now though you can stay at Galudih Tourist Lodge which is near about 8 to 10 km from Duarsini or you can stay at Bundwan or Jhilimili. Both are 10 Km and 28 Km from Duarsini respectively on the way from Khatra to Jhilimili to Bundwan to Duarsini. If you want to stay at Galudih then you can follow the following road through hilly-forest zone . . .

You will see a temple on the road after reaching in Duarsini Market which is also the boarder of WB-Jharkhand. Then you should take the straight road which is going away from the site of that temple. You can compare the road with heaven because it is so beautiful as per the nature and landscape are concern.

But best option is to stay at Jhilimili Lodge at the Hilltop or if you are adventourous enough then I can give you an oppotrtunity to stay at the Triba Hut in Mayurjharna which is in the Hills of Dalma Range within the circle of Duarsini. When you will be going towards Duarsini then you will cross the entire road keeping the Hills in the left hand and Mayur Jharna is there and I do not think that anybody have ever been there but threaten of wild animal specially Elephant, Wild Boar and sometime leopard is also there. There is no proper fooding options apart from the recipe of the tribal with Deshi Pahari Chicken.

You should contact to Bablu da and his contact number is 9434202485. You can take my reference and try to book the left side room of 2nd floor. Bablu da is a very well known rich figure in this region.

You will have all the options of getting outside tour based on this place. You can contact Kaushik who is my friend and a local guy with top ranked master degree holder. His number is 9832737098. He will arrange everything for you once you will take my reference.

If you want to thrill yourself in dense forest in tribal hut then I have to arrange it for you but it requires some information about your group.

Best Spot for sightseeing : Talbere, Sutan, 12 Miler Jungle, Trek to Sutan through 12 miler Jungle, Jalapahar, Trek or biking to Duarsini through Loto Jharna. You will never forget this tour even you will be the first tourist after my step over there in some of the areas.

Hello Prasanta Da,
First of all let me tell you that myself, Debashis Misra, is absolutely new in India-mike Forum. I am a travelling-addicted person in search of something different among the nature.... I usually travel three to four times or even more in a year sometimes in search of unknown beautiful silent virgin destination just to spend times with Nature. I have gone through most of your threads it's too good to explain. So without being keeping silent I have send you the friend request. Please do accept it. and please do share me your I really need to talk to you regarding some travel destination. I don't even know how to send private message in India mike. Thank you so much and have nice time.
