Hi Bangla..
it was not a complimentary breakfast. We requested him to take us to any joint for breakfast and he took us to his home, where, in weekdays, they organize breakfast for Army cadets.
And the food was not free, rather we were charged Rs 40 per plate.

Site seeing included Kalibari, Cactus nursery, Golf Course, Drupin Dara, Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa(We had to come back from mid-way as the roads were being re-constructed), Rabindra Bhavan on the way, Dr Graham's School and Delo.

Ya....I didn't say that it was complimentary but it was almost a package!!
Well even the hotels providing complimentary breakfast/beverages are inbuilt components in the room charge!!
Anyways the sightseeing deal was good it seems......

I do not know the exact reason, whether it is due to petrol/diesel or milage. But what I have experienced in my latest trips to these areas, which includes, Gangtok in 2009 and Darjeeling in 2011, jounery by Indica is very much comfortable. One more thing, the drivers pick-up goods on the way and dumps them on roof of Sumo. The passengers of Sumo do not complain as they are not affected. But the driver earns the extra money. This is not always possible in Indica. The luggage of the passengers occupies a lot of space - in boot as well as roof also is there is any.

The rate chart is the latest one however the rates are not. As mentioned earlier the drivers are taking the maximum charge irrespective of the car type with an excuse to the bad condition of the road. You will surely get Pre-paid taxi for Lava. You can call 9832081743 for Mr Chandan Roy or 9733157850 for Mr Subhash Roy to negotiate. The pre paid booth Number is also with me, I can mail you that if you want.

Mod Note : Please do not use SMS abbreviations such as 'u'. The correct spelling is 'you'

Thank you Apurba. I called up Mr. Chandan Roy. He said he would charge Rs 3500/- for Tavera to drop us at LAVA from NJP. Is the price justified? What is the normal rate for prepaid taxi?

I would love to have the prepaid taxi booth number but how do I contact you? Last time I placed a contact form to help you contact me. But the moderator had deleted my post with a reason that direct contact is not allowed in this forum.
